UPDATE 6 January:
Congratulations go out to Cinderella, who has been adopted recently by a retired woman living in Hamilton. The two bonded quickly and easily and it would appear that Cindy finally has found a forever home full of all the love and attention she so justly deserves.
Original Text:
Cinderella is a three year old Rottweiler whose life, to date, has not been very pleasant. Housed in a filthy, odor filled, “puppy mill” environment, this beautiful animal gave birth to any number of offspring and, when rescued by a concerned citizen, was suffering from eye infections, a lacerated neck and weeping mammary glands that had become impacted.
Thankfully she was immediately treated by a vet and has recovered nicely.
Cindy is a sweetie. She adores her foster mom. is gentle and attentive to the eight year old in the household and gets along well with the adult male dog with whom she now lives.
We do not, however, recommend that she be adopted by a family that contains young children, cats or small breed dogs. We strongly believe that Cindy was also been physically and mentally abused by one or more men and she took a considerable amount of time to warm up to the husband in her present foster home.
Lots of patience, an abundance of attention and a true desire to make this magnificent canine a full member of her new family will result in a loyal, loving companion for many years to come.
