UPDATE:
Well here’s some great news! We have had Rusty in our care since October 2012. When he came to us he was in pretty bad shape. Flea ridden, underweight and obviously needing attention. Over the last 3-1/2 months Rusty became quite a personality around the Oasis office.
Well, as it turns out, “Crusty Rusty” (as we fondly termed him) was not six years of age as the vet indicated but instead nine years of age. He had been adopted as a kitten to be the sole companion for a senior citizen who had lost her husband. Rusty was, believe it or not, his real name. This little guy, although neutered, liked to “prowl at night” and, unfortunately did not return home one morning. That was in August 2012. Two weeks ago the owner’s daughter spotted Rusty on our site. The pair are now re-united.
Congratulations Rusty. I bet it’s great to be back home!
ORIGINAL TEXT:
What an impressive cat is Big Rusty. His coloring alone draws people to him and his personality plus holds their interest as he laps up all the attention that comes his way.
Discovered as a stray, obviously abandoned by a previous owner, this six year old neutered boy is up to date on his vaccinations and in excellent health.
This was not the case when he originally came to Oasis covered with fleas and suffering the skin disease associated with these nasty pests. It was evident, sadly, that he had been on his own for quite awhile.
Big Rusty (not to be confused with kitten Rusty) is a talker. He vocalizes his wants and desires in a truly endearing manner. We believe he would be a wonderful companion to a senior citizen or retired couple although he has plenty of energy and would enjoy playing with youngsters in his new forever home.
