Durham Region Pet Supporters Are The Best!
One individual can make the difference in the life of an abandoned and destitute pet.
We, at Oasis, have no control over the end result of any story, but with the help of the community (or in this case one Good Samaritan) we can make the remaining years of a stray’s life either comfortable in a forever home or pain free as they pass over the Rainbow Bridge.
Clark, semi-feral and starving, was discovered in the backyard of a Scugog Island resident. He was sheltered and fed. The individual in question contacted Oasis and agreed to financially contribute to having this six year old male updated on all vaccinations and neutered.
Oasis committed to placing Clark in a foster home and subsequently finding him a loving, forever family. Such was not to be. When blood tests were done prior to the surgery he was found to be in severe kidney failure. Clark had little time left and was humanely euthanized surrounded by those who cared.
R.I.P. Clark.
Kudos to James who cared enough for one of God’s creatures to open his wallet and heart to Clark. Kudos to the vet clinic who cared for Clark in a compassionate and professional way.
To the amazing pet supporters in our community who are willing to give the gift of life, or the best end of life care, to pets like Clark… Thank you.
