UPDATE:
It took a little while to find this great dog the right new home but we’re now happy to announce that Buddy has been adopted by a couple who are strong supporters of animal rescue. In fact, they specialize in reptile rescue. Buddy joins their happy home with one cat and four children. He will enjoy spending week-ends up north where he will be able to swim and carouse with his new family. Lucky guy… what’s that old saying?…”Good things come to those who wait”. Yeah, that’s it. And Buddy’s wait sure produced a really good result for him! Congratulations and best wishes from the gang at Oasis.
Original text:
Buddy’s story is typical of many dogs. Adopted at three months of age as a cute, cuddly puppy, this now 72 pound, 14 month old, neutered canine rapidly became a liability in a household unable to accommodate his day to day needs.
Full of energy, with an adolescent’s “joie de vivre” and the desire to run and play for hours, Buddy was in danger of being turned over to Animal Services to face an uncertain fate.
Luckily his owner, who had originally purchased this handsome canine for his young daughter, reached out to Oasis and we are committed to finding Buddy a forever home.
Buddy would be the perfect companion for an active adult or a busy household with teenagers and a love of the outdoors. He’s not comfortable with other dogs, particularly small dogs.
He is definitely NOT an apartment dog and would do best in a home with a large backyard.
