Brando. Big Cat Sadly Passed Away. R.I.P.

Cat for adoption, named Brando. Oasis Animal Rescue, Oshawa, Ontario

UPDATE 26 September

Brando passed away early Monday.  He had been sick on Sunday and faded very quickly. We had an appointment booked with the vet first thing in the morning but unfortunately he couldn’t hold out. So sad. We suspect that he had a number of underlying physical ailments ( diabetes one of these) but he still deserved the chance of finding a new family after being so abruptly abandoned at our door. This part of the rescue business is very hard for all of us.

R.I.P. Brando.

Original Story:

Brando is a BIG BOY!!  At 30 pounds he resembles a lovely furry pillow as he reclines in his favorite chair and he is always happy to have someone “snuggle up” beside him.

Brando was left outside the Oasis front door in the middle of the night, squeezed into a carrier that was way too small to contain such a gentle giant. It was, in fact, necessary, to take apart the cage to extract him. Poor boy…to have had such a misfortune befall him and yet be so gentle, friendly and loving.

Examined by the vet, and brought up to date on his vaccinations, it was determined that Brando is neutered and approximately eight years of age. This boy needs a home of his own without any other pets in residence. We believe he would be a fabulous companion for either a senior citizen or retired couple with lots of time to spend with him.
